Amelio Bianchi I believe that, as for us too, he was not known by the general public and yet he was a refined craftsman and the mtb illustrated here proves this.
We bought it from a person who raced for Amelio Bianchi's team in the 90s. The mtb was in fair condition but some parts had to be replaced and thanks to the information we received from the person who competed with us, we were able to reassemble it while maintaining the 'original.
He chose a frame with Columbus EL tubes (very light), and the rest of the mtb he assembled it with Logic Ritchey components and some Shimano Deore XT 732/735 and the shimano 600 road-derived rear derailleur, all this made it possible to create a mtb with a weight of 10.19 kg not bad…..
Even the color was not chosen at random, it was inspired by the gray of the BMW cars that circulated on Italian roads in the 90s. All of this can be read in the sheet found in the vertical tube of the frame, in which Amelio Bianchi indicated to Carlo Dossena the colors to paint the frame with. Look at the photo.

After a year of studies carried out in collaboration with the Bologna Polytechnic, Blaster presented the futuristic cast magnesium frame in 1995. It is the first mountain bike in the world made of magnesium
Although it had an innovative line that made it slender and energetic as well as being equipped with all the accessories of the best brands, unfortunately it did not have the success expected of such a novelty.
However, it remains one of the most revolutionary projects for the constructive concept, since the particular 60° inclination of the saddle and steering axis, allowed the extreme adaptability of the frame to people of different heights, simply by adjusting the positions adequately.
The restoration was carried out on the whole bike both for the functionality of the mechanics recovering some missing parts, in addition to the cleaning and polishing of all the chromed parts, while for the painting we made use of the collaboration of the DOCAR company of Dossena Carlo in Seventh Milanese who perfectly reproduced the yellow and blue colors identical to those of the YETI.

Cinelli prototype presented at the Milan cycle and motorcycle show in 1983. The bike was found abandoned and in poor condition in a farmhouse in the province of Pavia.
The frame, as often happened in those years, was developed by taking up the geometries and characteristics of the already widespread BMX bikes, see the front fork and the junction between the vertical and horizontal chainstays, also the stem and the handlebar of the ITM (Italmanubri) manufacturer were of the type used on BMX bikes.
But the real novelty of this bike is the group as it is the first XT M700 model that the Japanese Shimano presents on the international market in 1982. The company was dedicated to increasing the efficiency and stability of the cyclist. One of the results was the AX component series. The pedals had a very short axle. This change allowed Shimano to lower the pedal set for the benefit of the rider who could use a smaller frame and have a lower profile.
The pedals used a large 1”x 24 tpi axle and required a special crankset that accepted the larger diameter pedal axle. Unfortunately the market did not share this innovation and Shimano discontinued design around 1983
There were two versions of the pedal: Touring and Mtb, the one mounted in this prototype and the Mtb.
The bike never went into production, this prototype as far as we have been told was bought by a doctor in Milan and then ended up in a farmhouse in the Pavese province and was found in very bad condition.
The restoration was carried out on the whole bike both for the functionality of the mechanics as well as the cleaning and polishing of all the chromed parts, while for the painting we made use of the collaboration of the DOCAR company of Dossena Carlo in Settimo Milanese which reproduced the original color perfectly: the "Rosso Maranello".

The "mountain bike phenomenon" landed in Europe in the early eighties.
In Italy the first mountain bikes were imported by individual enthusiasts directly from the USA; until in 1984 Rossin, through Domenico Garbelli, officially presents a made in Italy mtb, but unfortunately the sales are not exciting.
The turning point of the Italian mountain bike phenomenon occurred in 1985 with the production started by the Cinelli company of the "Rampichino": the first mountain bike produced in Italy in large numbers. It was called treecreeper just like the little brown bird that climbs trees. Even the "Airone" magazine with a service of the time dedicated to the mountaincreeper contributed to the launch of the new means of transport, the "AIRONE" mountaincreeper could only be purchased through a coupon attached to the magazine, only 1000 specimens were produced, ours is the number 243. The price ranged from 826.00 lire without accessories to 870,000 with accessories.
Firmly believing in the project was the Cinelli brand which thus gave life to the movement of Italian bikers, and with the name "rampichino" off-road bikes were therefore identified. Cinelli's “rampichini” were also imported into the United States by Gary Fisher
The frame is made with steel Columbus tubes, reinforced with variable section segments. It was possible to buy it with the accessories which consisted of the pump (present in our model), the bottle with thermal coating (present in our model) and the front and rear metal mudguards, moreover, although it was not an accessory, it was possible to mount a stand in style motorcycle (present in our version).

In addition to the classic Master, Colnago also produces with Columbus Profile S4 Gilco tubes another version called MASTER ARABESQUE the modification that makes it recognizable is in the seat tube at the end of which a very articulated serigraphy is made that wants to take up the meaning of the term arabesque:
“Type of musical composition mostly for piano, whose rhythmic trend recalls the sinuosity of the Moorish style. Typical figure of classical dance, which requires a stretch of the body (see arabesque)."
To you the difficult choice which inspired Colnago

When in the 80s the wave of the mountain bike poured from the United States to Europe, even Colnago after Cinelli and Rossin had to adapt to the situation by creating its own models since it was realized that the mtb was not a passing fad as many thought of our frame builders.
Similar to their approach to road bikes, their cross country bikes have been designed to be top of the class.
So it was no surprise that Gilco's famous Columbus Profile S4 tubes were used for their frames.
These tubes were originally designed for the victorious Master, the legendary road bike model. Due to their stiffness they have proved to be a good material from which to form MTB frames. As a result, MTBs with these frames were also called Masters.
While the groups that were assembled were updated according to the year in which it was produced.

When in the 80s the wave of the mountain bike poured from the United States to Europe, even Colnago after Cinelli and Rossin had to adapt to the situation by creating its own models since it was realized that the mtb was not a passing fad as many thought of our frame builders.
Similar to their approach to road bikes, their cross country bikes were designed to be top of the class.
The first Master was produced by Colnago in 1986 and ended in 1991 with the MASTER IBEX, ours is the second version produced in 1987 in the 16 SARONNI 86 color.

In addition to the classic Master Arabesque, Colnago also produces with Columbus Profile S4 Gilco tubes another version called MASTER IBEX ARABESQUE the modification that makes it recognizable is in the seat tube at the end of which there is a very articulated serigraphy that wants to take up the meaning of the term arabesque :
“Type of musical composition mostly for piano, whose rhythmic trend recalls the sinuosity of the Moorish style. Typical figure of classical dance, which requires a stretch of the body (see arabesque)."
To you the difficult choice which inspired Colnago

This stupendous mtb was created by Mino Denti in 1989, it was exhibited for several years at the prestigious MOMBAT museum in California of which you can see a few photos, unfortunately the museum's activity ended the mtb was purchased by a Scandinavian collector finally it is been detected by us.
When we tried to reconstruct the history of this mtb we were told that ever since it was exhibited at MOMBAT they weren't sure it had been made by Mino Denti, honestly given the features we had no doubt that it had been made by the frame builder from Brescia.
However, to dispel any doubts, there was nothing left but to contact him personally, and as we thought as soon as we saw it, he didn't have the slightest hesitation in affirming that it had been produced by him, indeed he lent himself with great enthusiasm to personally sign it in addition to the technical data sheet of the parts that compose it, on the indication of Mr. Denti some parts have been replaced so that the Mtb has returned to its original state.
A special thanks to Mr. Mino Denti

Even Masi could not avoid producing MTBs, obviously he built them to order like racing bikes.
The Ranger Raid mtb was produced by Mr. Masi in the year and as he told us personally (he remembered the customer who had commissioned this mtb back in the distant past) it was made in only….exemplaries.
This mtb was personally signed by Mr. Masi during our meeting.
A special thanks to Mr. Alberto Masi

Unfortunately it was impossible to keep the original varnish but it was not a problem to reproduce it as Gino Milani used Carlo Dossena of the Docar of Settimo Milanese who, knowing perfectly the shades used at the time, faithfully reproduced the famous "MILANI RED".
The restoration was also carried out for the functionality of the mechanics as well as the cleaning and polishing of all the chromed parts

The pedal versions were two Touring and Mtb the one mounted in this prototype and the Touring

Owning such a prestigious frame made by Andrea Pesenti (he is the creator of the Cinelli Laser to be clear…) deserved an assembly of the same level we remembered that back in 1991 the Pavia technician Zamai made a Klein Adroit frame. Having opened the Tutto Mountain Bike magazine (June 1991) where assembly was illustrated, we compared the parts that could be reused as they were recoverable and those that we had to replace as they were difficult to find.
Recovered the pieces we started to assemble the mtb.
What is usually regarded as the complete group has been rightly subdivided here into loose parts from various companies. _cc781905-5cde-3194- bb3b-136bad5cf58d_
The releases have been removed from the hubs to allow the wheel to be tightened, the ends of the hubs have been threaded where two titanium nuts are screwed in to lock the wheel.
The aim was obviously to make it as light as possible but also having an eye on the wallet, the final result was 8.8 kg we certainly could have filed a few more things but the wallet would have been greatly affected.

First mountain bike produced by Rossin for the female public with a frame with the shapes and geometries typical of a women's bicycle.
The "mountain bike phenomenon" landed in Europe in the early eighties.
In Italy the first mountain bikes were imported by individual enthusiasts directly from the USA; and contrary to those who think that the first mtb marketed in Italy is the Cinelli, actually in 1984 Rossin, through Domenico Garbelli, officially presents a made in Italy mtb, but unfortunately perhaps premature times and little marketing mean that sales do not are exciting, and does not take off as hoped although the chassis and components were very respectable. The frame was a columbus off road in reinforced chromiummolybdenum steel for a total weight of about 2,600 kg and the Shimano M700 "deer head" groupset while the handlebar was Ritchey Bullmoose with brazed welds.
The restoration was carried out on the whole bike both for the functionality of the mechanics as well as the cleaning and polishing of all the chromed parts, while for the painting we made use of the collaboration of the DOCAR company of Dossena Carlo in Settimo Milanese since the paint original had been covered in a completely precarious way by a red paint therefore it was necessary to restore the original one: the "Grigio Titanio"

This is the first full suspension mountain bike produced in Italy by Rossin and is on sale in the 1992-93 catalogue. The main feature of this full suspension frame is the lightness of 1.650 kg thanks to the use of aluminum and titanium. With a view to making the mtb increasingly lighter but at the same time trying to maintain the catalog fittings, we have replaced all the nuts and bolts and possible parts of the xtr groupset, with the use of titanium and ergal. The parts that have been replaced are: the spokes, the nipples, the releases, the tyres, the collar and the saddle. The originals from the catalog are: ACI spokes, brass nipples, xtr m900 releases, Panaracer TimbuK II 1.90 tires, Kalloy collar, Italia Alpine saddle
As for the nipples and the spokes we used the 1.4 mm wcs ritckeys and the ergal nipples, the releases were replaced with an external titanium ring nut, the tires with the Panaracer XC Magic compe, the collar with one of the PMP in titanium and finally the San Marco saddle in titanium all of which made it possible to make the mtb 12.78 kg heavy we certainly could have done better by using other components but we would have completely distorted the mtb.

The first Mountain bike produced and marketed by Rossin in 1984 was followed by the Marathon produced and marketed in 1985. The substantial differences are represented by a Columbus off road frame but with a star shape and the front fork no longer flat but curved.
The mounted group is always the Shimano M700 "deer head" also the handlebar and always the Ritchey Bullmoose with brazed welds.

Even Piero Serena, like most of the Italian craftsmen who make racing bikes, assembles his first MTB.
Obviously for Piero Serena creating a MTB is not difficult the problem is that not falling within his "strings" he creates MTBs exclusively on customer order therefore they are built in very few numbers and very rare to find (like the version shown here).
Also in this MTB the frame builder from Brescia pours his knowledge using the ancient system of the forge.

The first time the prototype of the full suspended Turro Meteor was seen running was in 1991. On that occasion it was Paolo Caramellino who acted as testman. The mtb remained in the prototype stage until the spring of 1992 when the definitive version of this Piedmontese downhill bike appeared, officially presented in May 1992 at Bike Trends in Milan.
Turro Engineering of Turin, a company specializing in aluminum processing, conceived it for a project aimed at the use of downhill competitions
In 1993 the downhill world championships took place in Metabief (France) Paolo Caramellino driving the Turro Meteor Competition reached second place, mocked in the final by Mike King by only 8 tenths, also the fault of the course which had gradually dried out giving a small handicap to Caramellino, who started in the top positions.
